2012 Billboard Music Awards Nominations Announced, Adele Tops List [FULL LIST]

Adele, Rihanna and LMFAO swept the nominations for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Adele is nominated in 18 categories including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist. LMFAO received 17 nominations, while Rihanna got 13. Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne both received 10 nominations each.

The Billboard Music Awards (BMA) recognises achievements in R&B, rap, pop, country, rock, latin and alternative.

According to the Billboard official site, the awards will reflect Billboard's chart rankings based on key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand on 20 May.
