Zipper Google Doodle Joins ‘Do A Barrel Roll’ And 11 Other Google ‘Easter Eggs,’ Tricks [PHOTOS]

In honor of the 132nd birthday of the inventor of the zipper, Gideon Sundback, Google unveiled its latest "Easter Egg" for Tuesday's Google Doodle, a full page zipper than unzips to reveal search results on the search page for Sundback,  joining other "Easter eggs" like "do a barrel roll."

By simply logging on to Google's homepage, users can unzip a zipper with their cursor and watch as the full screen unzips to search results for Sundback. For the many amused by the latest trick, this is not the first time Google has left tricks known as "Easter eggs" for Google users.

Back in November, Google unveiled "do a barrel roll," which spins your screen and turns it temporarily upside down in one of the many "easter eggs" planted by engineers. The neat trick went viral after users created memes and posted on Twitter about the egg. Similarly, Google launched a special "Google Doodle" in honor of Thanksgiving 2011, where users could customize a turkey with colors, feathers and accessories, and "let it snow" for Winter 2011, where snow falls on the screen.

According to Google, these "easter eggs" are inside jokes done by engineers working at Google headquarters to amuse users.

A Google spokesperson confirmed to Mashable that "do a barrel roll' was created by a Google engineer "with the primary goal of entertaining users -- while showcasing the power of CSS3," the newest version of the skin.
