Chelsea may as well skip the part where they look for a temporary manager until former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola returns from his 12 month break. It seems the 41 year old Spaniard has re-thought his plans and is ready to listen to offers from Premier League clubs, according to a Sun report.

The multiple title-winning manager took charge of his final game for the club on Saturday evening, when he led the former Spanish and European champions to the Copa del Rey title after beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0.

"I will be pleased to receive their calls, but for the next months I have to charge my batteries and charge my mind. I will wait. I am going to rest and I will wait. I will be ready once a club wants me. If they seduce me I will train again," the Daily Mail quoted Guardiola as saying.

Guardiola's change of heart has reportedly alerted Blues' officials, who were believed to be disappointed at former boss Jose Mourinho's decision to sign a new four year deal with Real Madrid, earlier this week.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is being pressured by a lot of people including players, experts and fans to appoint interim boss Roberto Di Matteo as the permanent manager, will be carefully weighing his options before making a final decision. However, with this new dramatic development the Russian billionaire will definitely have Guardiola on the top of his list.

The former Spanish defensive midfielder seems to be keen on making a move to Stamford Bridge, as he recently rejected an offer from Italian club Roma who are looking for Luis Enrique's successor. According to a report in the Telegraph, Guardiola recently travelled to Paris to have a chat with former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti (now the manager of Paris St Germain) regarding his experiences of working at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, who claim they will appoint a permanent manager before the Chelsea squad meet for pre-season training in July, may be tempted to offer the permanent deal to Di Matteo because he, despite being a novice, did manage to beat Guardiola's side and lead Chelsea to their maiden Champions League title.
