Tom Cruise To Divorce For The Third Time: A History Of Loves Lost [PHOTOS]

Actress Katie Holmes filed for divorce from her husband of five years, actor Tom Cruise, and this marks the third divorce for the "Mission Impossible" star.

"Kate has filed for divorce, and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children," Cruise's representative told People magazine. "Please allow them their privacy."

Holmes' lawyer also spoke: "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

This was Holmes' first marriage and, now, her first divorce. She was linked to only two men before she commenced a relationship with Cruise. One was her "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson; the other was "American Pie" actor Chris Klein, to whom she was engaged at one point.
