'Fifty Shades of Grey' Fan Polls: Who is in the lead to play Christian Grey? [PHOTOS]
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" hype continues to ravage the whole of Hollywood. With books selling out every second, the frenzy has managed to reach Australian and Asian shores. So with the film adaptation in the works, who among A-list celebrities can play the part of Christian Grey? Well, there are fan polls for that. The question is who is in the lead?
Based on the popular film "Twilight", E.L. James started "Fifty Shades" as a fan fiction that in time garnered multiple views. From humble beginnings as an e-book on the web, "Fifty Shades" became paperbacks sold in seconds in over a hundred bookstores over the globe.
What makes the book so appealing anyway? "Fifty Shades" trilogy isn't the typical run-of-the-mill love story. E.L. James novels have ventured into a darker and sexier side of love that involves whips, chains and blood. Interestingly though, people love it and just about everyone wants to be Christian Grey or Anastasia Steele.
The film adaptation is far from being turned into a big screen movie, but Universal Studios along with author, E.L. James are working on it. As for the fans and readers, they're helping out with fan polls that include worthy actors and actresses to play the part of Grey and Steele.
With all the brooding and immensely attractive male celebrities in Hollywood, who is best to play the part of 27-year old entrepreneur, Christian Grey? Plus, among all the web polls, who is in the lead with an even bigger chance to get cast? Click on the slideshow to find out.
Ian Somerhalder
One half of the Salvatore brother in “The Vampire Diaries” is in the lead to play the handsome entrepreneur. Ian leads by up to 55.2% among other contenders. Well, all Ian’s hard work on his Twitter campaign is one to thank and partnering with writer, Bret Ellis is another.

Simon Baker
Australian actor and director, Simon Baker surprisingly comes in at third place with 4.23%. Baker is best known as the charming guy who calls Anne Hathaway “babe” in “Devil Wears Prada”.
Michael Fassbender
The easiest pick for this list. Anyone who has seen all the Irish-German actor's back catalogue will already be wondering how he hasn't got an awards cabinet that's fit to bursting.
Fassbender can do it all. Whether it's giving a pitch perfect portrayal of mid-hunger strike Bobby Sands, bending metal as comic book icon Magneto, spouting German as an undercover soldier in Inglourious Basterds or playing a sinister robot in Prometheus, he doesn't put a foot wrong and neatly runs off with the film.
His raw, spectacular performance as a self-destructive sex addict in 2011's Shame had critics' jaws hitting the floor. Many think he was robbed not to win the statuette this year.
Without a doubt Fassbender will have his year ... and the next ... and so on.
