The Hensel sisters found fame at the age of six when they appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and graced the cover of Life magazine.

The reality show will be their third stint on TV. They have already starred in documentary Joined For Life and a follow-up programme, Abby and Brittany Turn 16.

The girls each have a separate heart, lungs, stomach and spinal cord but share most organs below the navel including intestine, bladder and reproductive organs.

While Brittany controls the right side of the body, Abby steers the left .

They made headlines in 2009 when an unsubstantiated rumour emerged that then Brittany was engaged, raising speculation about their bedroom arrangements.
