Renault’s new Scala is built on the concept of Nissan Sunny. The appearance is mostly the same except for its new alloy wheels. However, there is variably a price difference, with the Scala  priced ₹100,000 more than the Sunny. The petrol version of Scala is the entry model and has mid-level features whereas the diesel versions feature high-level specifications. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre XH2 engine that gives 100PS of power, while the diesel variants pack a 1.5-litre dCi K9K engine, which is expected to churn out 90PS of max power.

The base model RXE sports a driver airbag, ABS and EBD and follow-me-home headlamps. The step-up model RxL packs two air bags and apart from other features of the base model, this variant also has 15-inch alloy wheels, steering-mounted audio controls, climate controls and electrically adjustable mirrors. RXL diesel offers the same features of the petrol basic model but is priced at a higher ₹785,000. The high-end model RXZ diesel packs leather upholstery including on the door and steering wheel, chrome window surround and keyless entry in addition to the normal features of RXL. The  RXZ  is priced at ₹957,000.
