Director Anurag Basu's latest romantic comedy film "Barfi" starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz opened with a roaring response at the Indian as well as the overseas box office.
The romantic comedy was released in less than 700 cinema halls but raked in ₹346 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend.
The movie was released on Friday and collected ₹92 million on the opening day. On Saturday it raked in ₹115 million, while on Sunday it collected ₹139 million.

The film opened with positives reviews from both critics and viewers and is especially doing well at multiplexes. It has also beaten the record of Ranbir's previous movie "Rockstar" which made ₹330 million in its opening weekend at the domestic box office.
"'Barfi' has done remarkable business. The film gathered steam with each passing day, rising to the maximum on Saturday and Sunday. It was released in less than 700 cinema halls in India, a tiny release as compared to the biggies. Occupancy at multiplexes was fantastic," tweeted film critic and Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh.
The film is doing quite well in the overseas market too. It crossed the ₹2 million mark over the weekend, thus becoming Ranbir's top grosser film there ahead of his previous releases - "Rockstar" and "Raajneeti".
Barfi has also hit the business of Vikram Bhatt's horror flick "Raaz 3". The film, starring starring Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta, collected ₹90.5 million in its second weekend taking the total to ₹643 million.
