Gossip Girl is only two weeks away from running its final season. How will the series end for the main characters of the series? Will they finally act like grown-ups?
Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers. Read on at your own risk.
Here are some combinations of spoilers and speculations about the characters in the TV series:
Serena (Blake Lively): She runs away again, and gets into trouble - again. Spoilers indicate it will be Season 1 once again for Serena. At the beginning of the series, Gossip Girl spotted her at a train station. Last season, she was on a train again, aware that she could not be far away from another downward spiral. The final season will see her with another man, who may or may not be another shady character. Could she finally find -- better yet, create - a sense of stability and peace in her life?
Blair (Leighton Meester): She's all in, she says in last season's finale. She's betting everything to show Chuck she has always loved him. But she has yet to face a very bitter and vengeful Dan. And being the person who ultimately pushed Serena away, she may take the responsibility of bringing her back to their circle. There are lots of things on Blair's plate, for sure. How will her schemes unfold to turn things around this time?
Chuck (Ed Westwick): Blair has come back to him, but is he really ready for her this time? His father could not even trust him to run the family business. He will not take that sitting down. How will he prove his father wrong without ruining another chance with Blair?
Nate (Chace Crawford): Nate is now on his own at the helm of "The Spectator." Spoilers say he will use his resources to take down Gossip Girl - the original one. Is he capable of doing that? Other spoilers indicate he will enjoy the company of another girl who has some connection to runaway Serena. Rebound relationship, or the real thing?
Dan (Penn Badgley): Dan is deeply hurt to discover that Blair never stopped loving Chuck. Was he really surprised to know that? "The Lonely Boy" hoped for far too much, it seems. Spoilers say he will work with Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) for a scandalous tell-all book. It seems he would need Gossip Girl herself to accomplish that. Ever brooding and consistently overdramatic for a guy, will this guy be able to just live and let live?
The characters have never really learned from so much mess since Season 1. The characters are too often at their worst, but avid viewers are hoping for their best. Gossip Girl should give a brilliant finale as a thank-you to fans, who have followed the series from the beginning.
