A 14-year old body stole his mother's jewelry to fund a visit to a brothel with a friend, in an attack which was fuelled by a "delirium of hormones" according to police.
The pair sold gold and gems worth £2,500 for a fraction of their value to a dealer in their home town of Karlshruhe, south west Germany.
The two teenagers spent the proceeds on two visits to a brothel in the city's notorious red light district, followed by pizza and kebabs.
Police who interviewed them on suspicion of theft reported: "you could still see the delighted smiles on their faces while they were being interrogated."
However, it is reported that the two thieves will be forced to pay damages from their pocket money.
