Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes the Blues deserved all three points from the Premier League game against Liverpool. The Stamford Bridge side hosted the Reds in a league game that finished 1-1, with Brendan Rodgers' Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez, cancelling John Terry's first half header.

"It was exactly the game which shows how difficult the Premier League is when you don't kill a game off. We had complete control for 70 minutes and had so many chances you would think it is just a matter of time until we score a second or third, but unfortunately we didn't and allowed them to be alive, and then they came back into the game. The goal helped them and it opened the game, and in the end they could have won but we should have won the game," Cech explained to the club's Web site.

The hosts' goal marked the ex-England international's return to the first team following a four-match ban from the FA for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand. Unfortunately for the 31 year old, he was stretchered off the field with a rather nasty-looking knee injury, midway through the first half, after a collision with Suarez. The veteran centre back is scheduled to have an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury.

Meanwhile, Cech, who made an absolutely brilliant stop from Suarez, outside the box, when the South American was through on goal, stressed his side were not out of the title race and added that he felt the Premier League would be won either by the Blues or one of the Manchester clubs.

"It was a matter of timing, if I was late I would have been sent off or he would have scored, but my decision was clear and I was sure I could get there. I had a good starting position," the Czech Republic international said of the Suarez save, adding, "We had a very good start [to the season]. Manchester United started with a defeat but are now top and City had a very good victory {the champions beat Spurs 2-1 at home]. It's early days... I think we have what it takes to win trophies and challenge the best teams in Europe and the Premier League."

Carragher Happy with Draw

Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who made his first start of the season against Chelsea, was happy with the 1-1 draw. The 34 year old Reds' loyalist said he felt his side deserved a point.

"I think in the first half Chelsea were on top but in the second we came out and great credit to the lads. We probably deserved a draw in the end, the way we battled in the second half. The Premier League is a step up with all its intensity and Chelsea is a difficult place to come," Carragher said, adding, "If I am picked I give everything; it is down to the manager, he is the boss. Yes and no. I want to play but I understand. I am never going to cause a problem."
