Princess Charlene of Monaco seems to have become more stylish over the past few days while performing her royal duties.

After showing off a dazzling side in a white ensemble at the Princess Grace Awards in New York last month, Princess Charlene was spotted over the weekend in her home country at two different events the same day. And to the fashionistas' surprise, Charlene, who is known for maintaining a rather subtle style statement in her monochromatic beige dresses, wore two outfits to attend the events - both suitably chosen for each.

The former South African Olympic swimmer opted for a grey sheath dress during the day to visit the Red Cross headquarters in Monte Carlo. Princess Charlene attended a gift-giving event for the elderly at the Red Cross, where she personally handed out the gifts. Charlene teamed her knee-length textured dress with a pair of nude pumps and made a sober yet chic fashion statement with subtle makeup and pearl studs.

For the second event in the evening, which was a gala dinner to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the restaurant Le Louis XV in Monaco, Princess Charlene dressed accordingly, or rather boldly. The 34-year-old princess, who was accompanied by her husband Prince Albert II of Monaco, took on an all-black, glamorous avatar. She wore a peplum top with laced sleeves, shoulders and neckline, over a pair of tights. Charlene, who is often compared to Kate Middleton in fashion, completed her ensemble with black stilettos and a handbag. She also sported a bold makeup with dark eyes and lipstick, not her usual style.

These were among several events attended by Prince Albert and Princess Charlene prior to the Monaco National Day which falls on 19 November.
