Install XXBLK2 Android 4.1.1 Official Firmware on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 [Tutorial]

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 users in the UK have received the official Android 4.1.1. (Jelly Bean) firmware. The XXBLK2 file can be accessed via Samsung Kies or a manual installation. The latter requires Odin to be pre-installed on a computer.

PDA: N8000XXBLK2

CSC: N8000XXBLJ2

Version: 4.1.1

IBTimes UK warns users this is an official Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 10.1, which means the device will become unrooted. Ensure USB drivers are installed before proceeding.

To Install Android 4.1.1 N8000XXBLK2 on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Download Android 4.1.1 N8000XXBLK2 and Odin v1.85 to computer
Turn device off and enter Download Mode (to do so, press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons until Samsung logo or the construction Android robot and a triangle appears)
Open Odin in computer and connect tablet while in Download Mode
If the device has been connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow
Choose files to be flashed on the tablet. The files have to obtained from the extracted files in the first step
- Click on PDA and choose CODE
- Click on Phone and choose MODEM
- Click on CSC and choose CSC
- Click on PIT and choose .pit
Check Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options in Odin

Click on Start button in Odin. Installation will begin
After installation, the tablet will restart. Disconnect device from computer only after Home screen appears

Congratulations... the Galaxy Note 10.1 should now be updated to XXBLK2 Jelly Bean firmware.
