Pop star Ke$ha finds herself in a bit of a spot now that an interview where she said every word in “Die Young” “rings true to her” has come out after she tweeted that she was “forced” to sing the catchy ballad.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton unearthed a November 2012 interview where Ke$ha talked to a host at New York radio station 95.5 WPLJ about her second record, “Warrior.”
She said she took her time with her new album because she wanted to escape the sophomore slump. Ke$ha declared she was happy with how it turned out, saying “it was right and it was dope.”
Ke$ha then began to talk about why she took so long to come out with the album:
“I really take my time and I’m really precious about it, because I’ve realized how many people listen and how many places you can reach with a song and with your words.”

The next part of the interview is where she contradicts her recent tweet about being “forced” to sing “Die Young.”
Ke$ha said, “I’ve taken that into account this record, and making sure I mean everything I say.”
She acknowledged the song was a collaboration with Nate Ruess from Fun, but added, “I definitely make sure that every word rings true to me because I would never want to misrepresent myself to millions of people around the world, you know what I mean?
“So I wrote and rewrote that song 10 times.”
It seems Ke$ha officially caught herself in a lie, especially since it was only a day ago when, responding to the Newtown school massacre, she was claiming she had no choice in singing “Die Young.”
She had since deleted the tweet that said she was “forced” into anything, but replaced it with:
“I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy.and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express.”
So when was Ke$ha telling the truth?
