Tim Tebow has completed six of his eight pass attempts this season.

Frustrated with a lack of playing time and a dysfunctional locker room, Tim Tebow is almost certain to be out of a New York Jets uniform by the end of the season.

It is now being reported that the Jets will honor his request for a release and he is a lock to end up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN.

Earlier this week, Tebow reportedly would request a trade or release from the Jets at the season’s conclusion.

New York head coach Rex Ryan passed over the former Heisman winner in favor of Greg McElory, who is replacing Mark Sanchez in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future.

That move was apparently the last straw for Tebow, who has long expressed his desire to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Tebow may return to the site where his fame originated in Jacksonville. He led the Florida Gators to national titles in 2007 and 2009 and became a national sensation with his inspired play.

Jacksonville has gone with quarterback Chad Henne since 2011 first-round draft choice Blaine Gabbert is a few interceptions shy of being a bust. The report stated the Jaguars will have an open competition for their starting quarterback.

Jacksonville almost landed Tebow before the Jets snatched him up from the Denver Broncos over the summer. However he felt New York gave him the best opportunity to be successful.
