The iPhone is currently the biggest revenue source for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) and continues to have the most demand compared to their other products.
What does that mean for Apple? Let’s take a look.
The demand for iPhone’s in China is rapidly growing.
China’s 3G subscribers have grown 88% year over year to 222 million.
Analyst Brian White with Topeka Capital Markets states China Mobile’s 3G subscriber growth has been hurting because their carrier does not offer Apple’s iPhone.
“China Mobile is the only major carrier in China that does not have a relationship with Apple to sell the iPhone,” White said in a note to investors. “We still expect Apple and China Mobile to announce an agreement for the iPhone in 2013.”
China Mobile has 707.3 million total wireless subscribers, making it the world’s largest carrier.
Telecom has 82.4 million 3G customers and Unicom has 73.3 million.
