Cameras are one of the favorite gadgets that consumers carry around to capture fond memories. The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 at Las Vegas saw some awesome cameras premiere from leading manufactures like Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm.

Cameras are morphing as better social media tools with improved wireless connectivity that equips them with the ability to transfer images and videos to smartphones, tablets, or to social networking sites wirelessly. These latest cameras also come with in-camera editing tools for adding special effects to the image. Read on to know more about the coolest cameras that debuted in CES 2013.

Canon PowerShot N

Canon has launched a very cool and stylish PowerShot N - point-and-shoot camera with a unique square design and features a tilting touch screen. The camera is tiny enough to subtly fit into your pocket.

The camera features two control rings near the lens to control shutter and zoom. It has a tilt-able touchscreen display and built-in editing options, which includes Instagram-style filters and more. Canon has designed the camera keeping social media in mind, and provided a dedicated button for connecting the camera wirelessly to smartphones and tablets.

Fujifilm X20

At very first glance, the Fujifilm X20 looks similar to its X10 predecessor, but a big change has been effected inside by updating the enhanced image sensor and image processor.

It features a Digital Trans Panel that makes for easier viewing and changes the color of the shooting subject, according to the scene and shooting condition. The camera also includes hybrid phase-detection, contrast autofocus for faster performance and also supports 1080p video recording with manual focus.

Olympus Stylus Tough TG-2 iHS

Olympus announced Tough TG-2 iHS, the updated model of the company's first rugged compact camera - Tough TG-1 iHS. The new camera features the same 12 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 4X optical zoom as its predecessor, but major changes appear to enhance its ruggedness as it is water resistant up to a depth of 50 feet underwater.

The camera also includes a new micro function, which digitally magnifies from 4X to 14X, includes a 3 inch OLED display, built-in GPS for geo-tagging images and records full HD videos at 1080p.

Pentax MX-1

Pantax announced its first advance compact camera, the Pantax MX-1. The camera comes with a fashionable retro style with a sleek metallic finish on top and bottom panels. A textured rubber covering around the camera gives a firm grip. Besides, the camera features a 3 inch tilt-able screen, a wide-angle lens, a dedicated exposure dial as well as a rear thumbwheel. It is capable of full manual controls and captures RAW image.

Samsung WB250F

Samsung announced at least six new smart cameras at CES 2013. The WB250F is the high-end gadget and comes with interesting wireless features. The new camera features a Wi-Fi functionality, which allows AutoShare or backup of images from camera to smartphone or tablet.

The camera also supports Smart Camera app for Android and iOS smartphones. The app is designed to control, share and backup images using smartphone. Further, it boasts of 14.2 megapixel image sensor, 18X optical zoom lens and a 3 inch display.
