Garrett Hedlund.
The name Garrett Hedlund has once again popped up in the non-stop "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting rumors. Recent speculations are now derived from an innocent "Twitter" message that author E.L. James posted.
"Watching Troy," the British author wrote on her Twitter account @E_L_James on January 14. Fans who saw the post immediately assumed that E.L. James is evaluating Garrett Hedlund's acting skills for the male lead character Christian Grey. However, the author may have watched the film just to be entertained from a busy day.
Garrett Hedlund's other acting credits include the hit TV series "Friday Night Lights" and the movie "Four Brothers" with actor Mark Wahlberg. "Fifty Shades of Grey" enthusiasts began to notice that Garrett Hedlund could portray BDSM practitioner Christian Grey after watching his sexually provocative scenes with Kristen Stewart in the film "On The Road."
His age, 28, is another advantage for the actor to bag the coveted role since it is only a year older from Christian Grey's age. Still, Garrett Hedlund will face tough competition against strong Christian Grey contenders like Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth and Stephen Amell.
Meanwhile, author E.L. James and the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie producers still remain tight-lipped on the casting procedure details or the actor who will perfectly portray the role of billionaire Christian Grey. Screenwriter Kelly Marcel and producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti are the only names confirmed on the much anticipated movie project.
Both E.L. James and Kelly Marcel told reporters that the final casting decisions will not be completed until the film script is finished and the production team has decided on the film director who will deliver the version of the erotic novels to the big screen.
