Why The Long Face? Horsemeat Memes Whipped Up Following Burger Outrage

Internet users have got creative at the news that beefburgers sold by a number of supermarket chains including Tesco contained horsemeat.

Tesco was found to be the worst offender, with its burgers containing 29 percent horsemeat in tests by Irish food authority officials. The company promptly issued an apology to its customers, saying that the Food Standards Authority findings were "unacceptable".

In response to this mane-stream news item, people have been horsing around on Photoshop and a number of memes have ridden online. Here are a few of the best.
