A pet grizzly cub escaped from its home in Naples, Fla. Tuesday afternoon, and has been seen roaming the area.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for the 125-pound cub and warn that residents shouldn't approach the bear if they see it as it may be traveling in search of food, according to ABC News.

Anyone who sees the bear is advised to contact the proper authorities with details on the direction in which the bear is traveling, according to the Associated Press.

“Residents should remain calm, but pay attention to their surroundings,” said Wildlife supervisor Capt. Mitts Mravic.

“If you see the bear, please do not approach it. Get indoors if you can, and call the Fish and Wildlife Commission or local law enforcement.”

The bear is one of three owned by Dexter Osborn who runs an educational show called “A Grizzly Experience.” He travels with is bears to festivals, fairs and sport shows, his website details.

The bears live on a 2-acre expanse on a ranch in Golden Gate Estates.

The Monitor notes that black bears live in the area, but the grizzly cub is brown.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is also investigating the cause of the escape.
