R&B star Akon is being sued for $127,875 (£80,000) by a website company which claims he failed to pay for a failed social media site.

Atlanta Business Video said that the Smack That hitmaker hired internet experts from the company in 2011 to help him develop footage for Fantrace, a Facebook-style forum.

However, when the site, which was designed to allow fans to interact with celebrities, failed to take off Akin's experts at the firm allege they were not paid for their work.
