LG Flagship Smartphone 'Nexus 4' Pre-Orders to Begin by 15 March in India

LG's flagship Nexus 4 smartphone, which received accolades globally from critics and users alike, is yet to make its debut in the sub-continent. The latest we hear is that it will hit Indian stores this month.

Nexus 4 was supposed to be launched in India in November but was postponed to January 2013 for unknown reasons. It missed the January deadline again, casting doubts if the LG smartphone would really make its debut in India debut.

Surprising many, 'LG E960 Nexus 4' 16 GB smartphone model popped on the Indian e-retailer Saholic.com website in the last week of February.

However, even after more than two weeks, the online retailer is yet to take up pre-orders of the smartphone. Now, Saholic has updated the website mentioning that the 'Nexus 4' will be available on 15 March with a button link 'Tell Me When Available' to assist users to get the official notification about the Nexus 4 stock availability in their email-ids.

It was reported earlier that the delay in launch was supposedly due to spat between the Nexus 4 developers Google and LG. It was also reported that smartphone makers are bickering over the smartphone's price model for the Indian market.

In US, Nexus 4 smartphone is sold for $299(around ₹16,250) for 8GB and $349(around ₹19,000) for 16GB model. In India, LG is reportedly contemplating to sell the Nexus 4 at a much higher price.

Nexus 4 was initially launched in US, Europe and select markets across the world in the second half of 2012. The smartphone was a huge hit among critics and users with record sales and it run out of stock in many market. However, LG failed to capitalise on the popularity of its flagship smartphone in India by not releasing it in the country, which is dubbed as one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world.
