Galaxy S2 I9100. .

The Galaxy S2 I9100 recently received the latest Jelly Bean official update via Android 4.1.2 XWLSJ firmware from Samsung. The new firmware offers a host of exciting feature enhancements including Ink Effect On Lockscreen, 4.2 Keyboard with Swipe feature and a new customisable notifications panel.

The root method used in this guide makes use of the popular Siyah Kernel, which will automatically install ClockworkMod recovery (CWM) on the phone. Just flash the kernel zip file on the phone using ODIN and you are all set to enjoy the privileges of rooting.

NOTE: Rooting is essential to regain full system access (Super User access) for installing third-party root-based apps, custom ROMs and latest system tweaks. A rooted device will lose root access soon after installing the official firmware, which makes it imperative to re-root the device after installing any official update.

Users who have already upgraded their Galaxy S2 to the latest official firmware can now root it with ODIN flash tool, using our step-by-step guide posted below.
