Apple's highly-anticipated next-generation iPhones, iPhone 5S and budget iPhone 5C, are expected to release in Japan on 20 September, according to a recent CNET report citing the Japanese business daily, Nikkei.
The report adds that SoftBank and KDDI will handle the sales of iPhone 5S and 5C, while NTT Docomo will not be selling any iPhones. The iPhone 5S is expected to be available in a new Champagne Gold colour in addition to the regular black and white models, and is likely to ship with processor and camera upgrade, as well as a fingerprint reader integrated to the home button.
In related news, Techmaniacs is also reporting that the release date of 20 September, in Greece at least, stating: "So the date we currently have in our hands is the 20th September release of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, while the iOS 7 will likely make his debut on 16 September."
With the iPhone launch event expected for 10 September, and while some have speculated that the new iPhones may release on Friday, 13 September in the US, this is highly unlikely going on past experience.
The iPhone 5 was unveiled at a media event on 12 September last year and went on sale simultaneously on 21 September in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
