Following the market roll-out of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, recognised XDA developer, Chainfire, has released CF-Auto-Root for the new Galaxy device. The developer has created a new version of CF-Auto-Root for several variants of the Note 3, including the international 3G and LTE variants.

The CF-Auto-Root is the easiest and quickest way to achieve root and keeps the rooted device as close to stock as possible. Besides, the root package has SuperSU, APK and stock recovery installed in it.

Flash Counter and Knox Warranty

Samsung has added an enriched privacy and security protection in the Galaxy Note 3 called Samsung Knox. The root method sets current binary and system status to custom. Additionally, it will trigger the Knox warranty void status. The Galaxy Note 3, as the developer notes, stores the traditional flash counter. It is not possible with the Triangle Away app to reset binary counter status. Users will need to flash a stock kernel and stock recovery to reset the binary status.

The Knox warranty status change is permanent. It may also prevent certain Knox features from working. In such case, users should use a root method not based on custom kernels or recoveries, like a modified system partition.

IBTimes UK reminds its readers that it will not be held liable for any damage to the device. Users are advised to verify that their devices meet following requirements.

Pre-requisites

1) Install USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to transfer files between the Android device and the computer.

2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on phone to connect the Android device with the computer and use Android SDK with it. [Press Menu>> Settings>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option then check the USB Debugging Mode.]

3) As the tutorial might wipe out all data of the Galaxy device, create a backup. If the device is having any custom recoveries such as CWM/TWRP installed then backup the data using the recovery. Click here for our guide to install CWM recovery on Galaxy Note 3.

4) The Galaxy Note should have above 80% battery charge.

5) The device should be factory unlocked and not locked to a particular carrier.

6) The phone will lose its manufacturer's warranty once it is rooted but users can reclaim the warranty back by unrooting the device later.

7) The CF-Auto-Root file works only with Samsung Galaxy Note 3. As applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device, verify the model number of Note 3 by selecting Settings>> About phone>> Model number and install the root package accordingly.
