Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers will need to consider whether to let Tiago Ilori go on loan, despite the youngster arriving at Liverpool last summer.

Tiago Ilori is a loan target for Spanish side Valencia after scouts watched the £7m signing in action for Liverpool's Under 21 side earlier this season.

Ilori made the move from Sporting Lisbon on deadline day and spoke about how it was a dream come true to be joining one of England's most successful clubs.

He has since struggled to make his way into the first team with the likes of Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel taking precedence.

Despite the fact he has continued to insist he is committed to working hard at Liverpool a loan spell could be the right move for the 20 year old develop his skills further.

Portuguese newspaper Record are claiming that Valencia are hoping to line-up a loan move for the young defender when the January transfer window opens after they failed to land him on a permanent basis last summer.

While Ilori has only just made the move to Liverpool a loan spell could be beneficial to all parties as Rodgers has plenty of depth in the squad and may look to allow the Portugal Under-20 international to secure more regular football during a loan spell where he is sure to develop.

Valencia scouts have been to attend Liverpool under 21 games in order to watch Ilori in action and the paper reports that should the Merseyside club be willing a deal could be done early in the winter window as the Spanish club search for a replacement for out of favour defender Adil Rami.
