Roy Hodgson has revealed that Jack Wilshere is finding his limited game time with Arsenal frustrating after the midfielder put in a somewhat disappointing performance for England on Friday night.

Wilshere played for 71 minutes against Chile before being subbed-off in the eventual 2-0 loss to for the Three Lions. He was widely panned after the performance as he continues to get back to his best after spending over a year on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Equally for Arsenal the midfielder has struggled to achieve the consistency in his performances that led many to believe he would be a big star for club and country before sustaining his ankle injury.

And Hodgson has now admitted that Wilshere needs to play more games for the Gunners if he is going to heavily feature in the manager's plans for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

"One thing Jack has mentioned recently has been that he has had a lack of 90-minute match practice and he obviously feels that he needs a few more games under his belt," Hodgson told reporters.

"But there will be 28 games that he can possibly play before we go to Brazil so it's not something that bothers me enormously in November.

"That question could be a relevant one at the end of April or the start of May if he is still not playing games, but at the moment, I am just happy to accept that."

Hodgson also revealed that conversations between himself, Arsene Wenger and Wilshere have taken place over his game time and all are in agreement that patience is needed as he continues to improve.

But Hodgson also insisted that he was happy with the effort that the 21 year old put in against Chile as they now prepare to take on Germany on Tuesday night.

"It's going to take Jack some time,' he explained. 'He admits that, as does Arsene.

"I thought he did some very good things in the game [on Friday] so I wasn't disappointed with him. I was pleased we got 65 minutes out of him and I hope that will do him well for the future."
