Manchester United's interest in Everton Ribeiro has been confirmed by the Brazilian's agent with a January move believed to be on the cards.

Ribeiro has become an integral member of the Cruzeiro first team since joining at the start of the year and the club have insisted they hope to keep hold of his services until at least the end of the season.

But the attacking midfielder's agent Robson Ferreira has now claimed that negotiations are already taking place over a deal with United hoping to seal the deal early in the winter transfer window.

"Man United want him. Moyes has been impressed. I've already been to England and talked personally with their representative," the agent told Estadao.

"In United's opinion he's the complete midfielder."

United will no doubt be keen to sign another midfielder in the January window after missing out on Cesc Fabregas and Ander Herrera in the summer.

After failing to convince either midfielder to make the move to Old Trafford Moyes will likely turn his attentions to making up for the last window's errors and may well feel as though Ribiero is the right man to fill the role.

Ribeiro's worth has reportedly risen to around £15m as his performances continue to improve with his current Brazilian side but that figure is unlikely to deter United.

And joining Rafael and Fabio, as well as Anderson at the club would mean that the midfielder could settle in at Old Trafford quickly as he looks at one last chance to get noticed by the national side in preparation for the World Cup next summer.
