Liverpool's midfield target Everton Ribeiro has revealed that he will prefer a move to Manchester United as his style of play means he will slot seamlessly into their midfield.

The 24-year-old has been credited with taking Cruzeiro to their first title in over 10 years, a brilliant achievement for a player his age. The player has previously been linked with a £15m move to Manchester United, but the Brazilian club came out to say that he will not leave the country in January. David Moyes is in desperate need for reinforcements and is believed that he will swoop in for the player if he is made available in the near future.

Liverpool, who are in the race, will be highly disappointed as they were scouting the midfielder and are unlikely to get him, following his bold claims over his preferred move to Manchester. Moyes has lost five games already this season, including two consecutive losses at home in their last two games and faces a massive test to get United into the top four, which is likely to be their main aim this season.

"I already watch the Premier League games. They are great teams that play in Europe. They are the dream of any player. I feel I am ready to play in any part of the world. If you play for Cruzeiro, you can play in any place," Ribeiro told ESPN Brasil.

"United have [Shinji] Kagawa, [Wayne] Rooney, [David] De Gea is the goalkeeper. I know them very well because I play with them a lot in video games as they are a great team. You play it one day after the other and know the players even better.

"I would fit in any part of the midfield. I would do well as a playmaker to support the attack. I let my agent and Cruzeiro talk about that. When they feel it's good for both parties, they will let me know. I'll see and we'll analyse everything," he added.
