Paul Walker's younger brother has reportedly been asked to film the final scenes for Fast & The Furious 7.

40-year-old Paul was on a break from shooting the remaining sequences of the film when he was involved in a fatal car crash on 30 November.

Following his tragic death, Universal Pictures announced it was their "duty" to shut down production on the film - adding they were "dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew, and filmmakers."

Production on the film was ceased indefinitely, however according to the MailOnline, producers decided to approach Paul's younger "look-a-like brother" Cody, to take his place in the latest instalment of the hit franchise to complete Paul's scenes.

"They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that's when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody," said a source.

"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on.

''If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honour his brother's memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now, the family and cast and crew are all still grieving," the source added.

25-year-old Cody, who lives in Oregon and has worked as a movie stuntman, has been staying with his mother Cheryl in Los Angeles since the tragic accident.

He was seen clearing his late brothers' possessions from the star's home and visited the Forest Lawn cemetery with his family to decide on Paul's final resting place.

Universal have stressed that no decisions regarding the completion of the film have been made and they will take guidance from the Walker family as to the most fitting exit for Paul's Fast & Furious character.

A spokesman for Universal said: "We are not commenting on the status of things at this point."

Meanwhile, the funeral arrangements for the tragic star have been finalised, with the ceremony expected to take place on the weekend of December 14 and 15.

Walker's family have requested an intimate funeral service with close friends and family of the star attending.
