Battle of Titans: Motorola Zoom vs iPad vs Galaxy Tab

Is it a Stingray? No, it's a Zoom - after keeping the industry guessing Motorola has finally launched its highly anticipated tablet under the moniker Zoom and it runs on the next edition of Android specially crafted for tablets, the Honeycomb.

The Android 3.0-based tablet flaunts specifications that makes its kin Samsung Galaxy tab look like a minnow and even leaves iPad wanting. It flaunts the largest screen size at 10.1-inch compared with iPad and Galaxy tab and thus is tad bit heavier than iPad. The screen resolution is 1280x800 and with all that flash in the screen, it still returns a battery life of 10 hours equivalent to Apple's iPad.

The earlier Android versions on tablets were termed suckers but Honeycomb seems to optimize battery life pretty well. Zoom also flaunts 1GB of RAM compared to iPads 256 MB and Galaxy Tabs 512 MB and two cameras with 5MP and 2MP beating the camera less iPad and Galaxy Tabs camera pixels which stands at 3.2 MP and 1.3 MP.

Is the Zoom a game-changer? Well that can be contested but is it a serious competition to Apple iPad? It is at least until the iPad 2 arrives in April. Until then Motorola Zoom can have a ball.
