The finale of Britain's Got Talent saw Ashleigh and Pudsey, the dog, win the heart of Britain. They performed an act on the Mission Impossible theme tune for the final with amazing dance moves.

Jonathan and Charlotte came second and Welsh choir "Only Boys Aloud" took the third place.

The dog act received a huge applause from the audience and impressed the judges as well.

"It was unbelievable and sensational. Diamonds are not a friend for anyone, Pudsey is," Amanda Holden said.

The music mogul showered praises for the act.

"One of my favourite acts. I adore you both, you've got better and better. Congratulations to you both," Simon Cowell, the BGT judge, said.

Ashleigh, who has also won £500,000, as grand prize from the show could not contain her happiness.

"I just want to say thanks to everyone who has voted. I am so proud of Pudsey."

Ashleigh and Pudsey have been hugely popular ever since their first audition, and climbed up through the other stages of the contest, securing the most public votes during their semi-final round earlier this week.

Ten acts were chosen to be performed on the grand finale, which included solo singer Sam Kelly, dance troupe Nu Sxool, young singer Molly Rainford, boy band Loveable Rogues, Latin American ballroom dancers Kai and Natalia, solo singer Ryan O'Shaughnessy and swimmers Aquabatique, as well as wild card act The Mend, who rejoined the show after the judges voted them back in.

Ashleigh has already set her eyes on Hollywood with Pudsey and revealed that she would like to work with Twilight star Robert Pattinson.

"It is a massive dream of mine to get Pudsey into film work, I think he would be perfect for it, he loves the camera, and if Pudsey went to Hollywood, I would have to follow too," she was quoted as saying in Entertainmentwise."
