Overview

Defending their Asian Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, Pakistan come into this clash currently placed fourth on the points table, with six points from four games and will ideally want a win here to confirm their place in the final four.

The Men In Green who beat Japan 4-3 in what was a closely fought encounter on 25 October, will know that they will need to tighten their defense as the backline has not looked comfortable when facing quality opponents.

A win for Pakistan will ensure them a spot in the semi-finals and are the favourites to win on 27 October.

Their opponents China, who are placed fifth on the table with three points from four games, come into this clash on the back of a 9-0 hammering from India in their last game on 25 October. A win here for the Chinese team will put them on level with Pakistan at six points, but what will go against them is their poor goal difference which is currently at -12.

China will need to win by a margin of 11 goals on Thursday, which seems unlikely.
