Asus Zenfone 5
Asus Zenfone , Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 6 would need to wait for Android Lollipop OS update Asus

Taiwan-based Asus has announced that users of its Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5, and Zenfone 6 will have to wait for the Android Lollipop update to reach their smartphones.

The reason cited for the delay in rolling out Lollipop is issues within the software build. Asus states that it detected multiple issues during the Android Lollipop OS update verification, and these bugs are said to be in the process of being rectified.

Besides, Asus states that it has discovered 'limitations' within the New Pad Infinity (AB6) smartphone's processor which restricts the rollout of Android Lollipop to the device.

As per an earlier update schedule, Asus was expected to roll out Android Lollipop for the above smartphones during mid-May. The Taiwan-based company had even committed to rolling out the update.

However, the Lollipop rollout schedule for Asus' Padfone S remains unchanged as the smartphone is confirmed to receive Android Lollipop only during the beginning of June 2015.

Currently, Asus has not made public the new timeline to release Android Lollipop OS update to Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 smartphones.

Hence, users of the above smartphones are in for a comparatively longer wait. Owners of the Asus smartphones can conduct regular checks for Android Lollipop on their handsets.
