Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero has reportedly scheduled a meeting with Olivier Giroud's agent, as Los Rojiblancos begin the search for Diego Costa's replacement.

According to Spanish reports Costa will move to Chelsea at the end of the season. El Confidencial reported earlier this month that the Spanish international striker has told Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho he wants to join the Blues in the summer, with the West London club set to trigger his £50m release clause.

Prestigious Spanish radio station Cadena Cope now claims the current La Liga leaders are already scanning the transfer market for a forward, as they know that Costa may follow stars such as Fernando Torres, Sergio Aguero and Radamel Falcao in swapping Atleti for the Premier League.

While AS recently reported that Atletico were considering a bid for Newcastle striker Loic Remy, Cope reveals that Atletico Madrid officials have already contacted with Arsenal star Giroud regarding a summer move.

According to Cope, club sporting director Caminero scheduled a meeting with Giroud's agent Michael Manuello this Monday to discuss the French international's future. Manuello has a good relationship with Atletico, as he represents the club's on-loan midfielder Josuha Guilavogui.

The reports add that Atletico are set to offer Arsenal £15m to secure Giroud's services, and tempt Giroud with a pay rise.

Arsenal currently have the French International as first-choice striker, but he has netted just 14 Premier League goals this season and it is widely believed Arsene Wenger will move for a top striker this summer.in the squad but after he had netted just 14 Premier League goals this season it is expected that Arsene Wenger will bolster the squad with a top forward.

Last summer they bid for Luis Suarez before signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid. Wenger has also been linked with Spanish youngster Alvaron Morata and Bayern Munich star Mario Mandzukic.
