Real Madrid take on Atletico Madrid in the La Liga fixture scheduled between the two sides at the Madrid derby at Vicente Calderon on Sunday.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 4pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be available on Sky Sports 4 and Sky Sports 4 HD.

Overview

Atletico enter the crucial fixture after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Osasuna away from home in the last league fixture. Alvaro Cejudo, Emiliano Armenteros and Roberto Torres's first half goals saw Diego Simeone's men suffer their third defeat of the season.

However, the hosts are unbeaten at home in the league, having won 11 times and managed to draw the remaining two games played at Vicente Calderon this season. However, Real have already defeated their derby rivals 2-0 at the same venue in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final clash last month.

Meanwhile, Real enter this crucial fixture after their 6-1 crushing victory over Schalke in the Champions League fixture in Germany. Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema saw the nine-time European champions edge closer towards a place in the last eight of the competition.

In the league, Real are enjoying a great run in recent times. Carlo Ancelotti's side are sitting on top of the table with 63 points 25 games, leading second and third place Barcelona and Atletico by three points.

A victory over Atletico on Sunday could see Real go six points above their city rivals, which could eventually dent Atletico's title hopes.

What Managers Say

Diego Simeone: "It creates a situation of fear and so, when you have to play against Real or Barca, you're almost losing from the start. For foreign teams it's a bit different; meeting Madrid or Barca motivates them as they are less affected by the media hype. If it was up to me, I'd play against them every week."

Carlo Ancelotti: "Tomorrow's game will be intense, which is only natural and I don't believe it will be an ugly game. It will be a difficult and complicated game. We'll try to play our football the best way we possibly can, because to beat Atlético, we need to play as well as we can."
