Australia managed to seal their first win of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 after they defeated Bangladesh in Group 2 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on 21 March, Monday. Steven Smith's side bounced back after a disappointing defeat at the hands of New Zealand in their first match of the tournament.

Bangladesh, who batted first managed 156 runs in 20 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 49 from Mahmudullah down the order. Adam Zampa was the star player for Australia as he picked up three wickets, while conceding only 23 runs.

Usman Khawaja was the star player with the bat as his 58 runs, well accompanied by Shane Watson gave Australia a good start. They finally won the match by three wickets with nine balls to spare.
