Overview

The Three Lions managed to seal a victory over World Champions India in a must-win game in the sixth ODI to face Australia in the final of the Tri-Series on Sunday.

With the fifth ODI between India and Australia ending without a result, both teams shared two points, leaving M S Dhoni's side only a win to make it to the final.

In the last ODI, Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bowl first. The English side's decision to field paid off as India had a very slow start, before losing quick wickets as they managed to post only 200 runs; they were bowled out with less than two overs to spare.

India bounced back as they managed to send the first five English batsmen back to the pavilion with just 66 runs on board.

However, James Taylor and Jose Buttler played the rescue act for England, giving the Three Lions a three-wicket victory with more than three overs remaining.
