Australia's hopes of making it to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 received a boost after their victory over Pakistan in a Group 2 clash at the Punjab Cricket Association's IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, India, on Friday, 25 March. This also spelt the end for Shahid Afridi's men as the latest result saw them get knocked out of the tournament in the Super 10 stage.

New Zealand became the first team to seal a berth in the last four of the tournament. Pakistan have joined Bangladesh to go out of the T20 World Cup. Steven Smith's side will face India and that will be like a quarter-final clash as the winner will make it to the semi-finals.

It could well be Afridi's last match on the international stage and the Pakistan star all-rounder admitted that he will take a decision after returning home. IBTimes UK has compiled some Twitter reactions after Australia's victory.

I really feel sad for Afiridi he is one of the cricketing legend endorsing the game for 2 decades #AUSvPAK pic.twitter.com/gy0jFPSQm1
