Chinese beauty Li Na became the first woman to enter the third round of the Australian Open 2012 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Olivia Rogowska of Australia.

The successful Melbourne outing on Wednesday marked Li's best show since her breakthrough win at the French Open. Li, who is seeded No 5, will take on No 26 Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain in her next game.

Li, who is turning 30 next month, was undergoing a bad patch with setbacks at Wimbledon second round and the first round at the US Open.

"I'm feeling always good to come back to Rod Laver Arena. This year is much better than last year - more fans come to watch me play, not only from China but all over the world," the Associated Press quoted Li as saying.
