Marvel has released the second full trailer for this year's biggest superhero film, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set for release on 24 April.

Promised last week, the new trailer aired on ESPN during the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks.

You can watch the new trailer below:

The trailer is shorter than the first one (which you can see below) and consists largely of similar footage, showing off very little new but offering new angles on what we'd seen before. The new trailer is capped off with an extended look at The Hulk taking on Iron Man in his Hulkbuster armour, which seemingly confirms that Tony Stark is indeed inside the armour. Some had suggested he might not be.

Conspicuous in his absense is Paul Bettany's The Vision, who was expected to feature in the new footage. Bettany's contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date have been restricted to a couple of hours in a recording booth providing the voice of Iron Man's AI companion JARVIS, but his transition to a physical presence as The Vision has seen him join his co-stars on set.

Vision is an android and regular member of the comic book Avengers line-up. In the movie he'll be created by either Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark or James Spader's genocidal android Ultron – either way he'll end up teaming with Marvel's finest to stop the film's big bad.

The Vision is one of three new additions to the MCU being introduced in Age of Ultron. Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch will also debut, and featured heavily in the film's first trailer.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on 24 April.
