Real Madrid's record signing Gareth Bale joined a training session of his new club for the first time on Wednesday (September 11).

Video released by the club showed a smiling Bale being greeted by team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo upon his arrival at the training camp and then being greeted by coach Carlo Ancelotti and his deputy Zinedine Zidane at a pre training session in a meeting room.

Bale then joined the rest of players in a two-hour session.

It is unclear whether the former Tottenham forward will make his debut during Saturday's La Liga match against Villarreal.

Wales coach Chris Coleman said on Wednesday that Bale is not fit enough to last a full match and it would be "dangerous" to make him play 90 minutes.

"We have looked at him in these 10 days and he is nowhere near ready for 90 minutes even if Spanish football is slower," Coleman was quoted as saying on the FIFA website (www.fifa.com) on Wednesday.

It remains to be seen how Bale adapts to playing alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema and the Spanish game in general.
