Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the fifth fixture of the 2016 Asia Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur on Sunday, 28 February.

Overview

Sri Lanka started the tournament on a positive note after registering a 14-run victory in the first match of the 2016 Asia Cup against the United Arab Emirates. The fixture saw Lasith Malinga return from injury to lead his side.

The Lankans were restricted to 129 and in reply, the UAE failed to chase the target after losing the first four wickets cheaply. Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara did the damage as they picked up four and three wickets respectively.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, bounced back from the defeat against India with a victory over the UAE. The hosts scored 133 in 20 overs, thanks to Mohammad Mithun's 47 and Mahmudullah's unbeaten 36 down the order.

It was a collective effort from Bangladesh as everyone contributed. The UAE were bowled out for 82 as the hosts registered a 51-run victory.
