At least 48 people have been injured in a train crash in Barcelona, Spain, on 28 July. Five of them are reported to have been seriously injured. No deaths have been reported.

The incident occurred at Francia station, when a commuter train crashed into a railway buffer. The driver is among those injured.

At least 18 of the injured need hospital attention, emergency services said, according to Reuters.

The train was coming from the village of Sant Vicenç de Calders, in the province of Tarragona, on the R2 line of the Rodalies commuter rail service.

The cause of the crash is not known yet.
