Barcelona have identified the signing of a centre-back, a full-back, a versatile forward and the return of Denis Suarez from Villarreal as their top four priorities for the summer transfer window, according to Marca. The Spanish publication claims that the club have €50m (£38.7m, £55m) available for a squad overhaul, in addition to money generate by flogging unwanted members of the current side.

Marca reported last week that the Champions League winners are ready to cash in on up to six players to fund moves for new signings and tie down the futures of Neymar and Sergio Busquets with new mega-deals. The report claimed that Marc Bartra, Dani Alves, Adriano, Jeremy Mathieu, Thomas Vermaelen and one of the two main goalkeepers – Claudio Bravo and Marc-André ter Stegen – could move elsewhere to make space for additional names.

Marca now reports that the fund generated by the sales of some of those players will be added to the €50m transfer kitty set aside by the Barca board for the summer mercato. Marca added that Luis Enrique and the club's board of directors have already identified the four areas in dire need of strengthening, even naming some possible candidates.

First on the list, as widely reported in recent months, Barcelona are looking for a top centre-back to partner Gerard Pique in the heart of defence, as neither Bartra, Mathieu or Vermaelen have managed to fill the huge gap left by Carles Puyol's retirement. While Javier Mascherano has emerged as a short-term solution despite being a midfielder, Barcelona are looking for a specialist in the role such as PSG star Marquinhos, Athletic Club's Aymeric Laporte, Atletico Madrid's Jose Maria Jimenez or John Stones from Everton.

Barcelona are also on the hunt for a new full-back as Douglas, Adriano and even Alves face an uncertain future at the club, with the latter reportedly tempted by a lucrative move to China.

Luis Enrique has also previously admitted his desire for a versatile forward to serve as a back-up for the trinity of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. Sandro Ramirez will presumably depart, with Celta Vigo star Nolito remaining as the top name on the manager's shopping list for this role.

However, both Sport and Mundo Deportivo recently reported that the Barcelona have identified Rennes starlet Ousmane Dembele as an alternative to the Spaniard.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also expected to re-sign the versatile Denis Suarez to bolster their midfield. The former Manchester City academy starlet is impressing at Villareal and the Catalan club can get him back for around just €3m due to a buy-back clause in his contract. His agent, though, recently claimed that there have been no talks yet for the Spaniard to return to the Nou Camp this summer.
