Barcelona begin their quest for a sextuple with a European Super Cup clash against fellow Spanish outfit Sevilla in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 11 August.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Europe.

Overview

The first major trophy up for grabs in the 2015/16 season is the European Super Cup, which is contested by the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League in the preceding season.

The game is a rematch of the Uefa Super Cup in 2006, when Frank Riijkard's Barcelona were dismantled 3-0 by a rampant Sevilla in Monaco.

The Catalan giants have a nearly full squad to choose from as they embark on their quest to complete a clean sweep of six major honours in a single calendar year, with Brazilian forward Neymar (illness) the only absentee from the travelling party to Georgia.

Sevilla come into this clash after a historic 2014/15 season in which they tallied a record 76 points and sealed a second successive Europa League triumph by beating Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the final.

Coach Unai Emery is without midfielder Steven N'Zonzi (stomach bug), while Timothee Kolodziejczak and Adil Rami are doubtful about featuring.

The occasion will have added significance for Barca midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who made over 100 appearances for Sevilla between 2011 and 2014.

What Managers say

Luis Enrique: "We were much better than earlier this preseason [in the Joan Gamper Trophy win over AS Roma]... that's the goal, you cannot win anything without being rock-solid on defence. We try to control the ball more because those are the same situations that we are used to in matches."

Unai Emery: We're starting the season knowing we have the chance to win a trophy in our first match. Barcelona are favourites but we will go there with the dream we can spring a surprise. If we beat them, it will boost our confidence and our profile, and give us impetus for the campaign ahead.
