The return of Fernando Torres after a nine-year hiatus in England, will attract headlines as the Spaniard is set to make his first start in the league after stints at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Diego Simeone will be confident of his team's chances coming into the game, having claimed their first La Liga title in over a decade by securing a 1-1 draw last May.

Luis Enrique: "There are so many spiteful comments and speculations going around, and if I was to confirm or deny any one of them, then I'd have to do the same thing for all of them. And that's not my game. It's a dangerous game and I don't intend to play it. The day I feel that my players aren't behind me will be the day that I leave. But that is not something that I have felt the need to do at any stage of my career."

Diego Simeone: "I don't understand this game without the word competition. In order to compete against opposition you need to compete together. The team is working very hard. In order to have success in three competitions you need to have a group. The team is competitive and we will take on the opposition in whichever competition."
