Kick-off is set for 8pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 5 and Sky Sports 5 HD.

Overview

Barcelona have had a turbulent few days, failing to beat Real Sociedad on the first week of January, but have followed that up with a thrashing of Elche in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.

The uncertainty around manager Luis Enrique has unsettled fans, who are still pondering over the situation behind the future of Lionel Messi, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League amid a major fall out with the manager.

Most Barcelona fans want Enrique to leave, as his presence is having a negative impact in the dressing room, and with games like the one against Manchester City coming up in the Champions League next month, it can have an adverse effect.

However, their league position is not in question, as they are currently one point behind leaders Real Madrid. Though, they have played an extra game. It is hence, imperative for Enrique that his team put up a valiant effort, failing which his future at Barcelona could come in doubt.

Meanwhile, Atletico come into the fixture after a comprehensive 2-0 win over arch rivals Real Madrid at the Vincente Calderon in the first leg of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday. The return of Fernando Torres after a nine-year hiatus in England, will attract headlines as the Spaniard is set to make his first start in the league after stints at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Diego Simeone will be confident of his team's chances coming into the game, having claimed their first La Liga title in over a decade by securing a 1-1 draw last May.

What managers say

Luis Enrique: "There are so many spiteful comments and speculations going around, and if I was to confirm or deny any one of them, then I'd have to do the same thing for all of them. And that's not my game. It's a dangerous game and I don't intend to play it. The day I feel that my players aren't behind me will be the day that I leave. But that is not something that I have felt the need to do at any stage of my career."

Diego Simeone: "I don't understand this game without the word competition. In order to compete against opposition you need to compete together. The team is working very hard. In order to have success in three competitions you need to have a group. The team is competitive and we will take on the opposition in whichever competition."
