Police are appealing for information after three victims including a nine-year-old boy were sprayed in the face with chemicals during a robbery in north west London.

The incident occurred on 2 March, when two men appeared at an address on Brent Street, Barnet, to purchase two laptops which had been advertised on the Gumtree website.

As the men were looking at the laptops, they spayed the two women at the property – aged 28 and 26 - with a noxious substance. A nine-year-old boy, who was also in the property, was also sprayed in the face with the substance as he attempted to flee. The suspects then escaped with both laptops.

All three victims were treated at the scene but none required hospital treatment. Police are now appealing for anyone who recognises either of the men seen in the images taken by one of the victims on their phone. The suspects are both described as Eastern European. One wore a dark coloured leather jacket and had short brown hair. The other man wore a black jacket and had a tattoo on his neck.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting reference numbers 205697 and 205700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
