The current big screen Superman, Henry Cavill, has finally opened up on Ben Affleck playing Batman. In an interview with Total Film to promote the Man of Steel Blu-ray release, Cavill is all praise for his co-star in the sequel tentatively titled Batman vs Superman.

"I'm sure he'll be fantastic, above all else, and as a filmmaker he's got his own style, you know, he's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of been tenacious in his career," Cavill told the site.

"He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character, and it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a strength of character. They require a dedication to the work and a belief in oneself and Ben has that, clearly."

The decision to cast Affleck as the next Batman did not go down too well with fans. The tweets and posts against the Gigli actor playing the caped crusader just would not stop after the executives at DC made the announcement.

However, with time, it seems people have made their peace with the fact that Affleck will be featuring as Bruce Wayne/ Batman in what has become one of the most awaited films scheduled for release in 2015.

Also according to E! Online, the trades reported last month, that French beauty Olga Kurylenko is one of several actresses who have auditioned for the female lead in the picture that, according to the casting breakdown, calls for someone "tall, brunette, athletic and exotic."

That pretty much fits the character description of the Amazonian warrior princess.

Neither the cast members nor any of the suits from DC have given any official indication with regards to a Justice League film as yet, but according to Hollywood insiders, the film is definitely on with plans in place for a 2017 release.

The Zack Snyder-directed Batman vs Superman is slated to hit theatres on 17 July, 2015.
