Manchester United have reportedly suffered a massive blow in their ongoing pursuit of Angel di Maria as Bayern Munich have now joined the race in signing the Real Madrid star.

The Argentine international is set to leave the Champions League winner in the summer transfer window. He has been strongly linked with a move to United, while Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain has also registered their interest in signing the 27-year-old.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Bayern are looking to make a shock move in landing Di Maria. The Bundesliga winners' manager Pep Guardiola is willing to bring the talented winger to the Allianz Arena.

The player was a part of the Argentina squad for the World Cup, where they lost to Germany in the finals.

Due to international commitments till mid July, Di Maria has not returned to Real's training camp and is currently on a holiday. He will join his club teammates during the first week of August.

It is believed that PSG are willing to offer €75m plus €5m add-ons to Real for the services of their star player. Di Maria is set to sign a five-year deal at Parc des Princes, which could see him earn around €8m-a-year.

With Bayern now entering the frame, the Argentine World Cup star could consider an option in making a switch to Bundesliga in the ongoing transfer window. Any move from the German champions for Di Maria would see them further improve their efforts.

Meanwhile, the La Liga giants manager Carlo Ancelotti has suggested that Di Maria is still a Real player.

"Di Maria? He is a Real Madrid player. The club is doing very well on the transfer market and I think will continue until the last available day," Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport.

"The two new arrivals will certainly be of help. I think the current squad is already more competitive than last season."

With Bayern considering a late approach for Di Maria, it would be a three-way tussle between Guardiola's side, United and PSG for the Real winger's signature.
